Neil Petts- Glass Engraver

I started glass engraving in 2017 with an old engraving tool from Woolworths.

I've since upgraded several times and have used a Dremel, a dentist drill and an air compression engraving drill. I also use a portable USB engraving pen.

In 2019 I was lucky enough to meet and chat with Lesley Pyke at her studio in Norfolk and was even more inspired.

In 2020 I joined the Guild of Glass Engravers. In 2022 I did my first local craft show with my glassware and Phil's wood turning.

Phil Peet - Wood Turner

In 2016 after retirement, I decided I needed a hobby and as a relative was upgrading their own lathe, I bought the old one and set up a work shop at the end of our garden.

I attended a few wood turning lessons in Aylesford and watched a lot of You Tube videos!

I started with the basics of pens, egg cups and bowls, but as the passion for wood turning took hold, I started using different types of wood, finishings and polishing techniques. I've also dabbled with resin turning and have made some lovely pens from interesting resin blanks including pinecones and coffee beans!

I've since upgraded my lathe and chisels, investing in a grinding wheel to keep them sharp and precise.

My latest projects include a ring illusion goblet and Gronks.
